How to Brew Natural Beer with primitive tools and techniques

Jeff Moore is an enviromental educator and naturalist, who has taught natural history and primitive skills on the east coast, for over 20 years. Moore has been a home brewer most of his adult life and recently began brewing primitive beer using ancient methods.

Moore's recipe comes from a traditional style developed in Finland and still practiced today. Because the brewing is done in a primitive fashion, the results often vary a little from batch to batch. According to Jeff, "This is what makes the process interesting, you never know exactly what you're going to get".

Moore's brewing process will be done in "period" wood containers, while using the traditional method of hot rocks for heating the brew. During the process, Jeff will take the time to discribe the history of brewing, and interpret the tools and materials, that are intrical to the task of making a fine beer.

Please, feel free to bring an extra clean container, if you would like to take a sample of the finished product home to enjoy !!
